The driver opposed the photo on the Garden City billboard. This is what happened.

A well-dressed woman sitting on a billboard in the Garden City caught the attention of some motorists who complained about the inappropriate advertising of The Torch Lounge.

For four weeks, billboards on the westbound traffic of the State Street west of Glenwood Street in the North showed that a woman in underwear was lying on her back arched, her legs bent and her arms around her head.

The billboards at the bikini bar at 1826 W. State St. upset a lot of people driving past. Eight people complained to the Canyon Outdoor Media with the logo installed. By Wednesday morning, the billboard was bare.

Jeff Huck, general manager of Canyon Outdoor Media, said: “We just want to be slightly discrete to make sure we don’t exacerbate any community.”
On Wednesday, I called the torch and went to the voice mailbox. No one answered the phone.

The club also operates The Torch 2 on Vista Street, known for its provocative information on the signs above its entrance. On Wednesday, its State Street Bar promoted the finals of its “Racktober” competition.

Harker said his company is working hard to create a new billboard for the company, but has not said what it will look like or when it will appear.
