Wal-Mart expands its underwear products with the help of Bare Necessities

You can quickly buy your favorite Calvin Klein underwear from Walmart.

After the acquisition of underwear retailer Bare Necessities, the retail giant has doubled the number of underwear, and the company is increasing its online services in the United States. Bare Necessities has more than 100,000 inventory units from more than 160 brands and will continue to operate its own independent sites.

Since its inception in 1998, Bare Necessities has grown into a major online electronic platform for bras, swimwear, corsets and pajamas. Well-known brands sold through the site include Calvin Klein, La Perla, Spanx and Chantelle Paris.

“The acquisition of Bare Necessities is well suited to our broader acquisition strategy, including two different types of companies: 1) Category leaders with expertise and variety that can help improve the customer experience on Walmart.com and Jet.com (think Think of Hayneedle, Moosejaw and Shoes.com) and 2) Digital brands that offer unique products that customers can’t find anywhere else (think Bonobos, Modcloth and the recently acquired ELOQUII), explains Denise Incandela, Walmart’s US e-commerce fashion director. . Corporate blog post. “The need for nudity is right for the former.”

This move is Wal-Mart’s latest attempt to enhance its fashion quality. This summer, the chain announced a partnership with TV presenter and comedian Ellen DeGeneres to launch the new women’s collection EV1, and in June the chain launched a new concierge shopping service called Jetblack.
